Albert Esah Hamwey

Albert E. Hamwey, of Billerica formerly of Arlington, passed away on November 28, 2017.  He was 80 years old.

Al was an active member of the Church of St. John of Damascus in Dedham.  He was a longtime manager and vice president at Shawmut Bank and was very proud of his service as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division and marksman for the United States Army.

Al was the Dear and devoted husband of 59 years of Barbara (Zahka). Loving father of Albert Hamwey Jr. and his wife Deborah of Billerica, Susan Doyle and her fiancé Steven Bezreh of Wilmington, and Anthony Hamwey and his wife JoLaine of Billerica. Cherished grandfather, “Jido” of Kristen, Nicole, and Rachel Hamwey and Sabrina Doyle. Dear brother of Barbara “Babs” Hamwey of Arlington and Louise Kadehjian and her husband Norman of Burlington. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Al’s Funeral Service was held Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Church of St. John of Damascus in Dedham.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Albert’s memory may be made to the Church, or to the Bedford V.A. Hospital 200 Springs Rd. Bedford, MA 01730 or to the Billerica Elks, 14 Webb Brook Rd. Billerica, MA 01821.

Al was laid to rest at Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica.
