Elizabeth "Betty" (Aborjaily) Simonson

Elizabeth “Betty” (Aborjaily) Simonson, of West Roxbury, formerly of Dedham, passed away on June 2, 2017.  She was 88 years old.

Born in Boston, Betty worked for many years on State Street in Boston’s financial district and was a retired legal secretary.  She was involved with the West Roxbury Civic Association, as well as A.A.B.A, for many years.  An avid gardener, Betty was also the treasurer of St. Stephen’s Church for many years.  Above all else, Betty enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews as well as her grand-nieces and nephews.  She dedicated her life to her family and she will be greatly missed.

Betty was the dear and devoted wife of the late Richard C. Simonson. Loving daughter of the late Nimr and Kameely Aborjaily. Dear sister of the late Eugenie Nicholas, Arthur Aborjaily, Mary Milkie, Alfred Aborjaily, Lillian Vokes, and George Aborjaily. Survived by many loving nieces and nephews and her sister-in-law Catherine Aborjaily.

Betty’s Funeral will be from the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY Thursday at 9 a.m.  Funeral Service at St. Stephens United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38148 or to the charity of your choice.

Betty will be laid to rest with her beloved Richard at Brookdale Cemetery in Dedham.
