Jeanette (Kawam) Sakakeeny

Jeanette (Kawam) Sakakeeny of Medford, passed away on November 10, 2017.  She was 93 years old.

Born and raised in Allston, Jeanette was a graduate of Brighton High School and worked at Tufts University for over 20 years. She loved reading and writing poetry and completing as many crossword and sudoku puzzles as possible.  She enjoyed traveling the world with her beloved husband Anthony, visiting many countries in Europe as well as the Soviet Union and China.  What she loved most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, enjoying many summers in Manomet.

Jeanette was the dear and devoted wife of the late Anthony Sakakeeny. Loving mother of Paul Sakakeeny and his wife Mary Ann of Concord, NH, Mark Sakakeeny and his wife Angela of Atkinson, NH, Mary Ann Sakakeeny of Medford, John Sakakeeny and his wife Mari of Marshfield and Stephen Sakakeeny and his wife Maureen of North Andover. Loving grandmother “Tata” of Denice, Vicki, Anthony, Joseph, John Patrick, Matthew, Bryan, Luke and Jeffrey and great grandmother of Solomon, Wayne, Sam, Tessa and Vincent. Dear sister of Mary Bezreh of Arlington, Laurice Karrell of West Roxbury and the late Frederick Kawam. Dear sister-in-law of Gayle Kawam of SC. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Jeanette's Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church, 8 Inman St. Cambridge.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, 8 Spring St. in West Roxbury.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeanette's memory may be made to Rosie's Place, 889 Harrison Ave. Boston, MA 02118 or to the Church.

PLEASE NOTE:  There will not be a funeral procession from the funeral home to the Church on Wednesday morning.  If you are attending the Funeral Service, please go directly to the Church.

Jeanette will be laid to rest with her beloved Anthony at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
