On November 1, 2017, Keith quietly passed away in his sleep due to natural causes.
Keith was born on April 6, 1966, in Cambridge, Mass., the oldest son of Charles Nashawaty and Rosemary (Navarro) Flaherty. He grew up in Needham and went to Needham High School before attending Stanford University, where he earned a B.A. in political science as well as an M.S. in Sociology. He later attended and graduated from the University of Chicago Law School. After law school, Keith returned to California — his happy place — to begin his career with Sullivan & Cromwell. Soon after, he met his wife, Stephanie (Stewart) Nashawaty. Keith loved the law, but his true passion was sports. While physically on the West Coast, his heart belonged to and beat to the ups and downs of the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, and Bruins.
Soon, after the birth of his first daughter, Lauren, the family moved back to the East Coast to be closer to family. There, he welcomed a second daughter, Danielle. Keith was always the loudest and funniest voice in any room he was in. He seemed to know something about everything, whether it was politics, movies, reality TV, four-star hotels, and everything in between. He was full of life, and enjoyed living his with an enviable kind of enthusiasm — flying to the Masters or the Super Bowl on a moment’s notice, tirelessly searching for the best burger in New England, or road-tripping around Beverly Hills in search of celebrities’ homes. When he laughed, which was often, you couldn’t help but laugh too.
Beloved father of Lauren Rose Nashawaty and Danielle Nicole Nashawaty, both of Needham. Loving son of Rosemary (Navarro) Flaherty of Chatham, Charles Nashawaty and his wife Lois of Needham. Dear brother of Chris Nashawaty and his wife Jennifer Procopio of Norwalk, Connecticut. Loving uncle of Charlie and Rooney Nashawaty. Former husband of Stephanie (Stewart) Nashawaty.
