Laurice "Mitzi" (Haddad) Crede

January 17, 1923 ~ November 8, 2017 (age 94) 94 Years Old

Laurice “Mitzi” (Haddad) Crede, Of West Roxbury, passed away on November 8, 2017. She was 94 years old.

Mitzi was a woman with many various talents.  She was an amateur seamstress and made much of her children’s clothing.  She learned to wallpaper while her husband was away at war and installed wallpaper for her friends and family. Her father was a barber, so long before there were female barbers, Mitzi was giving haircuts to her children and grandchildren.  She was a proud parishioner of Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Catholic Cathedral, and sang in the choir for over 35 years.  She was very proud of her Lebanese heritage and served as secretary of the Syrian-Lebanese Ladies Aid Society.  Mitzi loved reading medical journals and playing the mandolin, but what she loved most of all was spending time with her family.

Mitzi was the dear and devoted wife of the late Henry W. Crede.  Loving mother of Alan Crede and his wife Patricia of Westwood, Clifford Crede of West Roxbury, Kenneth Crede of West Roxbury and the late Carolyn Crede Gerety. Beloved grandmother, "Gram" of John Gerety and his wife Hillary, Lynn Gerety, Alan H. Crede, Christine Fisher and her husband Derek, Jason Crede and Andrew Crede. Great grandmother “Gigi” of Ryan, Shawn and Brendan Gerety and Jackson Crede.  Dear sister of the late Mabel Shumilla, and Richard, Shaheen and Michael Haddad.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mitzi’s Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral, 7 VFW Pkwy, WEST ROXBURY. Visitation in the Cathedral beginning at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mitzi’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or to the Cathedral.
