Selma B. (Boshar) Ayoub

Selma (Boshar) Ayoub, of Andover formerly of Leominster, passed away November 23, 2016 at the age of 99. Selma was the dear and devoted wife of the late George S. Ayoub. Loving mother of George Ayoub and his wife Svitlana of California and Edward Ayoub of Somerville. Cherished grandmother “Sitho” of Marayah Ayoub-Schriefeldt and Niklas Ayoub. Dear sister of the late Edna Alouf, Emma Homsey, John Boshar, and Ferris Boshar; and gracious aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Selma grew up in the loving company of her siblings and always had her family in the highest place. She was an intimate part of the lives of her nieces and nephews, caring for each of them and always greeting each with a beautiful smile and a meal. Her husband and sons grew up surrounded by her love and tender regard, enjoying the wonderful aroma and savory meals coming from her kitchen. The births of her grandchildren brought great delight to her, and she was the ever generous Sitho to both of them, sharing countless times in her home or theirs.

Selma was also a sharp businesswoman, and along with her dear husband George she helped manage his business for decades, all to ensure their children had a good start on life. She and her husband always made time for family and friends, welcoming all in their home. Selma was also an accomplished artist, painting many familiar scenes that were appreciated by all.

Selma was gracious through to the end, having an ever-present smile for each and everyone that saw her, greeting all with that familiar beatific face, and becoming loved by those at Wingate in Andover where she spent the most recent years. Her delicious meals, embracing love and her glorious smile will always warm our hearts in memory, and the trust she always showered on us brings comfort.
 

Selma's Funeral Service was held at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 8 Lowell St. Lawrence, MA on Wednesday November 30, 2016.  Selma was laid to rest with her beloved George at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park, MA.
