Arthur G. Kalil Sr., of Bellingham, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on February 16, 2019.  He was 85 years old.

Born in Lawrence, Arthur moved with his family to Boston after he finished high school.  He was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving as a translator, fluent in Korean, Japanese and Arabic.  He worked as a mechanic for over 30 years and then as a security officer at the WGBH TV Station in Brighton for 20 years before retiring.

Arthur loved history and enjoyed literature, with old westerns at the top of his preferred reading list.  Arthur loved spending time with his family, especially at the beach in Manomet, where they spent many summers on the rocky shores of South Plymouth.  Arthur was also an avid Patriots fan, who very much enjoyed their recent Super Bowl Victories.  Arthur’s family wishes to thank the staff of Newton Wellesley Hospital, 4th Floor West, for their compassionate care during his last days.

Arthur was the dear and devoted husband of the late Dolores (Eartbawey).  Loving father of Dr. Arthur G. Kalil Jr. and his wife Donna Cesero-Kalil of Sandwich, Paul Kalil and his wife Roberta of Norfolk, and Bettyann McKenzie and her husband Shawn McKenzie (BPD District 14) of Bellingham.  Cherished grandfather “Shidoo” of Alia and Kitana Kalil.  Dear brother of Robert Kalil and his wife Mary of Nashua, NH and the late James Kalil.  He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Arthur will be laid to rest with his beloved Delores at the conclusion of a private Funeral Service.

Contributions in Arthur’s memory may be made to the Church or to Newton Wellesley Hospital 2014 Washington St. Newton, MA 02462.
