Elias N. Yazbeck

February 12, 1962 ~ June 10, 2019 (age 57)

Elias N. Yazbeck, of Dorchester, formerly of Lebanon, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday June 10, 2019.  He was 57 years old.

Born in Lebanon, Elias joined the Lebanese Army at the age of 18.  Eager to serve his country, he was at the front of every conflict.  He was extremely loved by his superiors, and earned several medals and letters of appreciation and accomplishments.

After 20 years of service, he retired from the military.  He started farming, and his friends and neighbors benefited greatly from his greenhouses and chicken farms.  He enjoyed articulate conversation and occasional poetry, and was always dependable for anyone who needed anything from him.

At age 23 Elias married his first love, Aida Boulos.  Nazha, Nazih and Wajih are the fruits of this marriage.

In January 2009 Elias immigrated to the U.S. with his family.  The next day he found a Job with Unicco Services at Haymarket in Boston. One year later he added another part-time job, at MIT food services.  Two years later he added yet another job at Star Market.  Nothing excited him more than his work, with his gentle personality mixed with his energetic soul.  He could always find work and was excited and enthusiastic to help his nephews find employment when they joined him in the U.S.

Elias never lost his green thumb, and enjoyed our Mother Nature, tending to vegetables and flowers at his home garden in Dorchester.

Elias was always a gentleman, always happy, always eager to help family and friends whenever he could.  Words could not effectively give justice to his charisma and enthusiasm.

In addition to his wife and children, Elias is also survived by his siblings:  Wajih and his wife Virginia of Dorchester, Tanios and his wife Lina of Roslindale, Chehwan and his wife Hosna of Dorchester, Kamal of Canada, Wafaa and her husband Faris of Lebanon, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Elias’ visiting hours will be held Thursday June 13, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home.  His Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon Church 61 Rockwood St. Jamaica Plain.  In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Elias’ memory to the Church.  Elias will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester.
