Evelyn A. (Boosahda) Ayoub, of West Roxbury, formerly of Worcester, passed away on June 9, 2018. She was 91 years old.
Evelyn was like a mother and grandmother to many. She dedicated her life to her family and the love of her life, George, whom she was married to for over 50 years prior to his passing in 2004. She loved to cook, especially Arabic food, and she loved cooking with and for her grandchildren, passing on traditions and recipes, and always keeping her freezer stocked in case they were hungry when they visited.
Evelyn loved to travel, seeing many US states as well as Mexico and Australia over the years. She was a dedicated parishioner of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church for years. She was a longtime superintendent of the Sunday School program when the Church was in the South End and after that, she was very active in assisting in planning and organizing the annual bazaar. She was a member of the Adult Fellowship Club at the Church as well as the Douma Club. What she loved most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who will carry on her love of life and cooking for generations to come.
Evelyn was the dear and devoted wife of the late George A. Ayoub. Loving mother of Carol Apar of Plainville and her late husband Artin, Janet Ryan and her husband John of Acton and Sandra Litchfield and her husband Stephen of Norfolk. Beloved grandmother, “Sitoo” of Deborah Healy and her husband Kevin, Allison Ryan, Sarkis Apar and his wife Kristy, Christopher Litchfield and his wife Audrey, Michael Ryan, Andrew Litchfield and his girlfriend Lilly, and Jason Litchfield. Cherished great-grandmother “Sisi” of Kayleigh Apar, Sarkis E. Apar and Logan Litchfield. Dear sister of the late Helen Hamwey, George Busada, Harold Boosahda and Raymond Boosahda. Dear sister-in-law of John and Patricia Ayoub, Laurice and George Dikmak, Eleanor Corraro and Marion Busada. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Evelyn’s Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 55 Emmonsdale Rd. WEST ROXBURY.
