Hamid Toufic Barakat passed away in the early morning hours of April 19, 2019 after a brave battle with cancer. He was 74 years old.
Born in Lebanon, Hamid came to the United States at a young age, and has called Boston home ever since. He was a generous, loving man with a great heart who loved to help as many people as he could, as often as he could. He was a father figure to many. Hamid enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was tending to his garden, or fishing (year-round) at Castle Island, he loved being one with nature. He was a successful entrepreneur with a green thumb. Above all else, Hamid enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, as they completed the love story Hamid had co-written with his beloved wife.
Hamid was the dear and devoted husband of Yoslin Barakat. Loving father of Miguel Barakat and his family of NC. Cherished grandfather “Dada” of Yoslin and Michelle. Dear brother of Karim and Bassam Barakat, both of Lebanon. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Hamid’s Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 12 noon at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 55 Emmondale Rd. WEST ROXBURY.
Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday 5 - 8 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
