Joan A Haddad

Joan A. Haddad, of Dedham, formerly of Boston’s South End, passed away on January 28, 2017.  She was 62 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s South End, Joan was a graduate of Brighton High School and Newbury College.  She worked for over 20 years at John Hancock Insurance where she met many friends with whom she loved to travel.  She went on many trips and cruises and listed Hawaii as her favorite destination visited.  She also sang in the chorale group with her coworkers at John Hancock. Joan kept in contact with many of these friends as well as her many pen-pals over the years.  What she loved most of all was spending time with family.  She loved holidays and cookouts and spending time with her nieces and nephews during many Saturday gatherings at the homes of her sisters.

Joan was the loving daughter of the late Habib and Mary (Derany) Haddad.  Loving sister of Sonia B. Vasquez and her husband Felix of Dedham, Gloria M. Cortas and her husband Edward of Norwood, Elaine Maloof of Dedham and her late husband Robert and Alma M. Haddad of Dedham.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Joan's Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 55 Emmonsdale Rd. WEST ROXBURY. Visitation in the Church beginning at 10 a.m.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to the Church or to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston, MA 02215 (Joslin.org).
Interment will conclude services at the Gardens Cemetery on Baker Street in West Roxbury.
