Kenneth William Hurrell, of East Hampstead, NH, formerly of Norwood and Roslindale, MA, surrounded by his wife and two daughters passed away on September 27, 2019, after a five year battle with Alzheimer’s. He was a young 79 years old, and he lived and loved life to the fullest.

Born in Lowell, MA in 1940, Kenneth was a graduate of Hyde Park High School where he lettered in football and hit the ice and boards for many years of hockey.  Following graduation, Kenneth went to Northeastern University and graduated with his Associate’s degree. He then wanted to serve his country, that he was so proud of, and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was known as Sargent Kenneth W. Hurrell. Following his service to his country, Kenneth worked hard in many professional jobs and was known as “Mr. Fix-it.” He worked for may years as a facilities manager for Boston Edison.

In his spare time, for many years Kenneth devoted his personal time to the West Roxbury and Dorchester Masonic Lodge, where he became a Past-Master, following he became a member of the Aleppo Shriners under the Motor Patrol outfit, he also was a Chief Aide to the Potentate which he took great pride in. He was proud to give back to communities and people around him.

Kenneth was the dear and devoted husband to Emily (Laham) Hurrell, loving father to Georgette Hurrell of Dedham, Denise Georgoudis and her husband Constantine (Dean) of East Hampstead, NH, Ken Hurrell Jr. of Michigan and former Father-in-law of Nora Couture of Michigan. Dear grandfather known to many as “Papa” but especial to his 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was a loving brother to Lawrence Hurrell and his wife Jackie of Attleboro and the late Lewis “Bing” Hurrell and brother-in-law to Alice Hurrell of Derry NH.  He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
