Yvonne T. Antoon

Yvonne T. Antoon, of Abington, formerly of Boston’s South End and West Roxbury, passed away on November 5, 2018.  She was 87 years old.

Yvonne was born in the South End of Boston in 1931 to the late Barakat Antoon and Zahia (Salloum) of Lebanon. She attended Cathedral of the Holy Cross Grammar and High School in the South End. Her family moved to West Roxbury in 1955 and lived there until 2002 when she moved to Abington. Yvonne worked for many years at Boston City Hall and then for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts until her retirement in 2002. 

Yvonne is survived by her brother Edward G. Antoon of Scituate and Sarasota, Florida. She leaves behind many devoted friends who helped and supported her during her life and during her recent illness. Especially noted are Ron and Judy, Dan and Debbie, Linda Mulroney and her daughter Callie, who Yvonne loved as a granddaughter, Roberta and Jeanne, Barbara Scoff, as well as her dear friend Esther, and others too numerous to mention.

Yvonne’s Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral, 7 VFW Parkway, WEST ROXBURY.  Visitation in the Cathedral beginning at 9 a.m.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Yvonne’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 125 S Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02130 or to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.

Interment will be private.
