Surrounded by her loving children, Afife Chahwan of West Roxbury passed away peacefully. She was born in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon and spent the last 40 years in Boston. She embodied a simple elegant life-style, focusing on grace, modesty and humble demeanor.
Afife was an ardent passionate Maronite-Catholic constantly praying the Holy Rosaries, with deep affection and devotion to the Virgin Mary. Her entire existence centered on being a good Christian, a faithful wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother. She loved cooking, baking and making sure her children and grandchildren are happy and well fed.
Afife enjoyed traveling and embraced a very dignified and respectful self-expression sense of fashion and style. She had many friends and lived by the golden rule; treat others as you want to be treated.
She is survived by her three sons, a daughter, grandchildren, and sisters and brothers in Lebanon. Afife’s perpetual message to her family, and friends was: pray, pray, pray.
