Alvin Nathan Dennis

With broken hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Alvin Nathan Dennis, a bright and beautiful soul, who left this world far too soon at the age of 37.

Alvin was a man who lived life with generosity, kindness, intelligence, and unmistakable vibrancy. He had a presence that lit up every room; a rare combination of warmth, sincerity and spark. Whether through a thoughtful word, a helping hand, or his signature, soul-deep laugh, Alvin made everyone around him feel loved and seen.

He was deeply giving, never hesitating to show up for others. Friends, family, even strangers, Alvin offered his time, energy, and heart without ever expecting anything in return. His kindness wasn’t loud or performative, it was simply who he was. Thoughtful to his core, he often knew what people needed before they did.

Alvin’s brilliance shone in everything he touched. Smart and endlessly curious, he had a mind that could grasp complexity, but he always chose to explain things in ways that made others feel empowered, never small. He approached life with passion and creativity, constantly learning, building, creating, and dreaming.

Alvin lived with intention. He loved deeply, laughed often, and never passed up the chance to make a memory. His presence made the world a brighter, softer, and more meaningful place.

Alvin is survived by his parents Jandi Strong Dennis, Henry (Nola) Dennis, his siblings Lucian, Ashley (Joseph), Maya, and Melissa. His niece Khamora. Bubba, his beloved dog, and by countless relatives and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, light, and the countless lives he touched simply by being himself.

A celebration of Alvin’s life will be held on Friday September 26, 2025 10:00 a.m. at Union Church In Waban (Newton), located at 14 Collins Road, Waban, Massachusetts 02468. Those who knew and loved him are invited to gather, share stories, and honor his remarkable spirit. Following the service, Alvin will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery at 990 LaGrange Street West Roxbury, MA 02132. Lastly, at 2:00 p.m. a repast will be held at Watertown Sons of Italy, 520 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.

Though his time here was short, Alvin lived fully and gave fully. He will be remembered always for the joy he brought, the wisdom he shared, and the love he left behind.

Rest in peace, Alvin. You were a gift.
