Andrew J. Horgan passed away peacefully at his home in Roslindale on July 9, 2024. He was 58 years old.
Andy was born and raised in Roslindale. He worked for many years as the Director of Infrastructure in the Boston Public Schools. Andy was also a published author. His passion for our environment and climate inspired him to recently write Frozen Nation under the pen name Drew Horgan.
Andy first met Audrey while delivering newspapers to her family home in the late 1970s. A few years later he would hang out at Joe's Pizza playing video games by the window to catch a glimpse of her as she walked home from the bus stop. Their love would continue to blossom and they were married in 1990.
Andy enjoyed his time with Audrey and family and friends in their country cabin in Maine. He was an avid fisherman, hiker and runner. He passed his love of running on to many. Andy was the most loyal Bruins fan. He recently turned his wife into a fan too. They delighted in watching "The Hug" and sharing one of their own when they won.
Andy was the dear and devoted husband for 34 years of Audrey (Reid); beloved son of Grace Horgan and the late James J. Horgan; dear brother of Stephen Horgan and his wife Jeanne of Walpole, and Shawn Horgan and his wife Kristen of Foxboro. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as his cat, Luke.
