Ann E. Murphy

Ann “Nancy” E. (Day) Murphy of Norwood, formerly of West Roxbury passed away on September 18, 2014. She was 77 years old. Nancy’s greatest pleasure was spending her time with family and friends, always willing to give a helping hand when needed without question. She was an avid walker; frequently seen around Norwood, West Roxbury and Boston. Her best walks were always accompanied by a stroller, as she was very proud to be a Grandmother and enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren. Nancy retired as a cashier from Shaw’s Supermarket in Norwood, and enjoyed gardening, shopping for others, and playing the lottery. Nancy was the dear and devoted wife of Michael J. Murphy. Loving mother of Donna Foley of Walpole, Lori Nardelli and her husband Stephen of Walpole, Lynne Ornstedt and her husband Brian of Beacon Hill and Jennifer Boucher and her husband Michael of West Roxbury. Beloved “Gramma” of Andrew, Christopher, Nicholas, Jillian, Jacquelyn, Alexandra, Ashley and Riley and loving great-grandmother of Mason. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Nancy's Funeral Mass was celebrated September 22, 2014 at St. Theresa of Avila Church. Nancy was laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery.
