Antonio Monteiro Neves, 74, of Santo Antão, Cabo Verde, passed away on April 3, 2026 at home in Boston, USA surrounded by loved ones.

Born on July 12, 1951 in Chã de Pedras – Ribeira Grande, Santo Antão, he was the son of Manuel Antonio Neves and Silvestra Monteiro Neves. He was raised in Lombo de Patricio and went on to study in Leipzig, Germany where he became an Agronomic Engineer.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings. Antonio will be remembered for his brilliant mind, determination, appreciation for his island, and his quiet yet impactful all around presence. His subtle wit, cherished by those who truly knew him, and his steady ambition leave a lasting legacy of love and wisdom.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St) West Roxbury, MA 02132 . A funeral will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery, 815 Willard St, Quincy, MA 02169. His wish is for those who attend to not wear black but white or beige instead.

His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Antonio Monteiro Neves, de 74 anos, natural de Santo Antão, Cabo Verde, faleceu no dia 3 de Abril de 2026, em sua residência em Boston, EUA, cercado por entes queridos.

Nascido em 12 de Julho de 1951 em Chã de Pedras – Ribeira Grande de Santo Antão, era filho de Manuel Antonio Neves e Silvestra Monteiro Neves. Foi criado em Lombo de Patrício e, posteriormente, foi estudar em Leipzig, Alemanha, onde se formou como Engenheiro Agrônomo.

Deixa a esposa, filhos, netos e irmãos. Antonio será lembrado pela mente brilhante, determinação, apreço por sua ilha e por sua presença discreta, porém marcante, em todos os aspectos. Seu senso de humor sutil — muito apreciado por aqueles que verdadeiramente o conheciam — e sua ambição firme deixam um legado duradouro de amor e sabedoria.

O velório será realizado na Quarta-feira, 8 de Abril de 2026, das 17h às 20h, na Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, localizada na 8 Spring St, West Roxbury, MA 02132. A cerimônia fúnebre ocorrerá na Quinta-feira 9 de Abril de 2026, às 10h, na Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home. O enterro seguirá às 11:30 h, no Pine Hill Cemetery, 815 Willard St, Quincy, MA 02169. Seu desejo é que os presentes não vistam preto, mas sim branco ou bege.
