Arlene Ann Zarthar

Arlene A. Zarthar, of West Roxbury, formerly of Boston’s South End, passed away on August 20, 2017.  She was 79 years old.

Born and raised in Boston’s South End, Arlene had been a resident of West Roxbury for many years.  She worked for over 20 years for the Gillette Company in Boston.  She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with friends and her #1 cat, Ruckus.  Above all else, Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  She was like a mother to all of the members of her family, even her loving sisters.

Arlene was the loving daughter of the late James and Ann (Yahoub). Dear sister of Carol and Laurie Jones of Arkansas, James Simpson of Maine, Rita Yarnold of Holbrook and the late Matilda Egan.  She was the dear Aunt of Arlene Donovan of Raynham, as well as many other loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Arlene’s Funeral Mass was celebrated in the Lower Church of Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury.

Arlene’s interment will be private.
