Barbara A. (Zahka) Hamwey of Billerica, passed away on May 25, 2026. She was 88 years old.

Barbara was the dear and devoted wife of the late Albert Hamwey Sr. Loving mother of Albert Hamwey Jr. and his wife Deborah of Billerica, Susan Bezreh and her husband Steven of Hampton Beach, NH, and Anthony Hamwey and his wife JoLaine of Billerica. Cherished grandmother “Theta,” of Kristen Hamwey, Nicole Leverone, Rachael Hamwey and Sabrina Doyle. Great-grandmother of Chase Leverone. Dear sister of the late Robert Zahka, Gladys Homsi, Maryann Hamwey, and Arlene Haddad. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara’s Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11 a.m. at The Church of St. John of Damascus 300 West St. Dedham. Visitation in the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Church.

Barbara will be laid to rest with her beloved Albert at Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica.
