Betty Kalil

Betty (Salem) Kalil passed away on Mother's Day May 9, 2010. She was 94 years old. A resident of Boston's South End for virtually her entire life, Betty loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing poker in her free time. Betty was the dear and devoted wife of the late Sam "Saba" Kalil. Betty was the beloved mother of George Kalil of Plymouth, John Kalil and his wife Donna of Brockton, and Sam Kalil of Quincy. Beloved grandmother "Sito" of John Kalil Jr. and his wife Melissa of Brockton, Marisa Boucher and her husband Alex of Brockton, and George Kalil Jr. of Boston. Betty is also survived by her 6 great-grandchildren, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. She was the loving sister of the late Zakie Maloof, Mae Culhane, Mansour and James Salem, Josephine Christensen, and Helen Philbrook. Betty's Funeral Service was held Wednesday May 12, 2010 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 55 Emmonsdale Rd. West Roxbury. Contributions in Betty's memory may be made to the Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Interment concluded services at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Boston.
