Charles F. O'Brien

Charles Francis O'Brien of Newton passed away on April 29, 2017.  He was 87 years old.

Charles was born in in Boston on August 8, 1929 to Francis and Mildred (Doran) O'Brien.  He worked for Amtrak for 46 years, and remained very interested in trains after retiring.  Charles enjoyed an active social life, and particularly loved dancing at Moseley's On The Charles, and rollerskating in Waltham. And, of course, he loved his pipe.

Charles was the dear and devoted husband of the late Eleanor (Murphy), beloved father of Elizabeth and Sean O'Brien, dear Grampa of Cameron and Megan, and loving brother of the late Mary, Jeannie, and "Peachy."  He was the dear friend of Eva Price - his golden angel and dancing partner.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Charles' visiting hours on the morning of Thursday May 4, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.  Following the visiting hours, there will be a funeral procession to Newton Cemetery, where Charles will be laid to rest with his beloved Eleanor.
