Elizabeth (Shalhoub) Anderson

Elizabeth "Betty" (Shalhoub) Anderson of Hyde Park, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away on September 26, 2015. She was 97 years old.

Betty was born on June 6, 1918 to Nickoli and Wadia Shalhoub. She was the sixth child of nine; five sisters: Mary, Evely, Helen, Lillian, and Grace; and three brothers: Sam, George, and Charlie.
She married Ralph Anderson on August 31, 1942. They had five children: Beth, Ingrid, twins Nicky and Ralph, and Robert; eight grandchildren: John Bumstead, Jennifer Hartmann, Andrea Deware, Joann Waller, Robert Golembeski, Kim Puglia, Daniel Anderson and the late Michael Anderson; thirteen great-grandchildren: Cori Hartmann, Nicholas Pronk, Kelsey Hartmann, Britney Waller, Alex Waller, Kasey Hartmann, Connor Deware, William Golembeski, Julianna Golembeski, Morgan Golembeski, Kaden Puglia, Autumn Puglia and Thomas Deware;and two great-great-grandchildren: Cameron and Arianna Hartmann; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Being a military wife she lived in many different places including Massachusetts, Georgia, Germany (two different times), Oklahoma, Virginia, and Florida. But home was always in West Roxbury.
Betty had a few jobs, but the job as cashier in the restaurant in the Museum of Fine Arts was her favorite. She worked with her dear friend and neighbor Barbara Murphy. She met so many interesting people, young and old, and she talked with all of them. She loved her family more than anything, and she let them all know. She was truly a loving, caring and giving person. If you met her she was your friend.

Betty's Funeral Service was held October 1, 2015 at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY.

Betty was reunited with her beloved Ralph at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
