Frederick Elias Hajjar

January 5, 1926 — December 10, 2016

Frederick Elias Hajjar of Marlborough, Massachusetts, formerly of Redington Shores, Florida and East Greenwich, Rhode Island passed away on December 10, 2016 at the age of 90.

Fred was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of both World War II and Korea.  He was awarded a Bronze Star, an American Area Medal, and a World War II Victory Medal for his service.  An alumnus of Boston University and the University of Dayton, he had a distinguished career in computer systems. He worked for many years as an administrator for the State of Rhode Island.

Fred was the dear and devoted husband of the late Sally (Attar) Hajjar.  Beloved father of Jerome F. Hajjar and his wife Lauren K. Taaffe of Newton.  Dear grandfather "Jidoo" of Sophia T. Hajjar. Loving brother of Louis Hajjar of Georgia and the late Najla Salhaney, Edward Hajjar, and Jeannette Hajjar-Ewer.  Fred is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Fred's Funeral Service was held at the Annunciation Melkite Cathedral 7 V.F.W. Parkway, West Roxbury on December 14, 2016.  Fred was reunited with his beloved Sally at Mt. Benedict Cemetery in West Roxbury.
