George K. Battikha, of Holbrook, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.
George was the devoted husband of the late Mary (Mitri) Battikha, the love of his life and partner in building a loving home for their family. Together, they dedicated themselves to raising their three daughters, surrounding them with love, and providing every opportunity for them to grow, thrive, and build successful lives of their own.
He was the loving father of Noura Milardo and her husband, Bill Clough, of Raynham; Afamia Murray of Brookline; and Mirna Zelic and her husband, Joseph, of Mansfield. He was a proud and devoted grandfather, affectionately known as “Jido,” to Julia Milardo and her husband, Joseph Alvarado; Sarah Milardo; and Alexander and Jacqueline Zelic. His family was his greatest joy, and the love he shared with each of them will remain a treasured part of their lives forever.
George was the dear brother of Tony Battikha and his wife, Ghada, of Holbrook, and Abe Battikha and his wife, Susanne, of Hanover. He was predeceased by his beloved siblings Alexander Battikha, Vivi Kuttab and her husband, George, and Rima Mitri and her husband, Jack. He also leaves behind his niece Rola Bezreh; nephews Ramzi and Tony Mitri; niece Alexis Toomey; and many other beloved Battikha nieces and nephews, all of whom remain part of his cherished family legacy.
A hardworking and devoted husband and father, George took great pride in caring for his family. Yet there was so much more to him than his dedication and hard work. He found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life, whether building birdhouses from scraps of wood, tending to his garden, or expressing his creativity through painting.
A self-taught artist, George had a special gift for capturing the beauty of nature on canvas. His paintings reflected his ability to find beauty in a fleeting moment and preserve it for others to enjoy for years to come. Through his art, as in his life, he reminded those around him to appreciate the world’s quiet wonders.
George will be remembered for his wonderful storytelling, his love of life, his warm presence, and his beautiful smile. He had a way of making memories come alive through his stories and bringing warmth to the people fortunate enough to share in them. The moments spent listening to him, laughing with him, and simply being together are now treasured memories that our family will hold close to our hearts.
At 90 years of age, George lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind far more than memories. He leaves a legacy of love, devotion, creativity, and family—a legacy that will continue through his daughters, grandchildren, and all those whose lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, his love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, in the stories they continue to tell, and in the beauty he captured in his paintings.
George will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend George’s visiting hours Friday October 16, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m. in the Church of St. John of Damascus 300 West St. Dedham, followed by the Funeral Service in the Church at 11:30 a.m. George will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
