Ibrahim Dib Lakkis

October 6, 1928 — August 14, 2025

West Roxbury

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude that we celebrate the life of Ibrahim Lakkis, a man whose very presence was a blessing, a gift to all who knew him. Ibrahim passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family on August 14, 2025. He was 96 years old.

Ibrahim was more than a husband, father, and grandfather—he was a beacon of strength, warmth, and unwavering love who brought comfort and joy to everyone around him. To his adoring grandchildren and great grandchildren, he was nothing short of a living legend. His remarkable story of courage, perseverance, and selfless devotion continues to inspire generations of our family.

In 1970, Ibrahim embarked on a journey that would define his legacy. With incredible courage, he left his homeland and came to the United States to build a new life for his beloved wife and five children. Despite the challenges of learning a new language and adapting to an unfamiliar culture, Ibrahim worked with tireless determination—not only to provide for his immediate family but to support his extended family back home. His work ethic was matched only by his generosity and his unrelenting commitment to ensuring his loved ones had every opportunity to thrive.

Ibrahim's strength was not measured solely by his accomplishments, but by the love he gave freely and the sacrifices he made willingly. He was the ultimate role model to his children. His mindset was simple yet profound: his job was to provide for his wife and children and never be a burden to them. He gave to their lives endlessly, never wanting them to take care of him. If he was in pain or feeling unwell, he dealt with it quietly, never wanting to worry those he loved.

His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the dreams he made possible, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness. No matter what was happening in life, every Saturday without fail, you could find Ibrahim at the grill, preparing his famous chicken for his children and grandchildren. With a radiant smile and an extraordinary gift for bringing the family together, these weekly gatherings became the heartbeat of his family traditions—moments of laughter, love, and connection that they will treasure forever.

In loving memory of a life so beautifully lived and a heart so deeply cherished—Ibrahim Lakkis will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
