A devoted family man, James F. Reardon, Jr. passed away peacefully at home on his 70th birthday. Beloved husband and soulmate of Susan T. (Kelliher). Adored father of Amy M. and James P. (“Jay”) and his wife, McKay, of Dedham. Cherished brother of Jean Roma and her husband, John, of Arlington, and Patricia Crede and her husband, Alan, of Westwood. Proud uncle to many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews, all of whom will deeply miss his warmth and unwavering presence. Predeceased by his loving parents, James F., Sr. and Gladys M. (Donlon) Reardon.
Jim leaves behind a legacy of hard work and quiet generosity. Born and raised in West Roxbury, Jim was a proud graduate of Boston Technical High School, Class of 1973. A respected local businessman, Jim co-founded a family-run company, Reardon Electric Supply, alongside his father, James Sr., in 1974. In 1996, he succeeded his father as President and continued to grow and strengthen the business, leading it through decades of success and service to the community. Through his work, Jim created more than just a business; he built lasting friendships.
Jim enjoyed time spent in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and along the coast in Ogunquit, Maine. He loved being on the water—whether canoeing or sailing. Closer to home, he found peace in the backyard gardens he cultivated with love, creating a sanctuary where family could gather and enjoy one another’s company.
He shared a special bond with his granddog, Lucy, whose loyal companionship brought him daily joy.
The family is deeply grateful to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff at Boston Medical Center for their compassionate care, with special thanks to Dr. J. Mark Sloan and Dr. Charles Tifft.
