Jeannette M.
Teebagy
August 2, 1936 – March 16, 2026
Jeannette M. Teebagy of Arlington formerly of Boston’s South End and Somerville passed away on March 16, 2026. She was 89 years old.
Jeannette was the loving daughter of Kasar and Ajia (Moudarri) Teebagy. Loving sister of the late James and Matilda Teebagy, Anthony and Mary Teebagy, Mary and Albert Robbat, Lorrice and Anthony Iavicoli, and Esper Teebagy. Dear sister-in-law of Olga Teebagy of Roslindale. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many long-time friends.
Jeannette was born in Boston and was a life-long parishioner of St. Mary Orthodox Church in Cambridge and a graduate of Somerville High School. Following high school, she went into finance and became a very accomplished business woman, serving as Vice President of Loans in the banking industry. She was dedicated to her job and was always quick to aid her family in financial advice. Upon her retirement, she had part-time jobs at the movie theatre and the supermarket where she could stay social and active.
She was a loving and supportive daughter, sister and aunt, always putting family first. She was devoted to her mother and took care of her for many years. She was always included in any events or occasions planned by her brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews. Jeannette had a fun sense of humor and always laughed hardest at her own jokes. She was and excellent cook and enjoyed teaching her family how to make Syrian food. She hosted card games on Sunday mornings and was never far from family, even in her travels.
Jeannette had a passion for traveling and did everything she could to see the world. Her travels took her all over the United States and abroad. She travelled throughout Europe and the Middle East, as well as Hawaii and the islands in the Caribbean. She collected magnets from each country she visited as a visual passport, chronicling her destinations. She enjoyed local travel as well, frequenting beaches in Revere and Nahant, visiting the family cottage in Gilford, NH, and for several years she had a condo in Hyannis where she loved to host family. Jeannette was also very generous in offering it to family members when she was not using it. Later in life, Jeannette was a “snow bird,” travelling to her condo in Hollywood, FL, which was of course, close to her family.
Jeannette's Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 23, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Orthodox Church 8 Inman St. Cambridge. Visiting hours will be held in the Church on Sunday March 22, 2026 from 5 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
