Joan M. Nashawaty

Joan M. (Smith) Nashawaty of Needham passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 14, 2012. She was 78 years old. Joan was born in Springfield, MA in 1933. She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant to the President of the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge, MA. Joan is survived by her beloved husband Antoun "Jack" Nashawaty, daughter Christen Robins and her husband Kenneth of Needham, grandchildren Jill and Max Robins, her sisters Margaret Toomey of Ludlow, Nancy Puleri of FL, and Susan Buoniconti of Chatham. Joan was predeceased by her brother Daniel Smith. Joan's Funeral Mass was held October 17, 2012 at St. Bartholomew's Church in Needham. Contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to MetroWest Homecare & Hospice 85 Lincoln St. Framingham, MA 01702. Joan was laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury.
