Lorenzo Petruzziello

April 24, 1931 — November 14, 2020

Lorenzo Petruzziello, of West Roxbury, passed away on November 14, 2020. He was 89 years old.

Lorenzo worked for many years as a laborer and mason and was a member of Local 22. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his garden and making wine. He enjoyed playing bocce and was a member of various bowling leagues over the years.  Lorenzo loved playing cards, trips to Foxwoods and the occasional scratch ticket. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises and was happiest around the family that he built with his loving wife of over 65 years, Antonietta.

For their 50th wedding anniversary in 2005, Lorenzo and Antonietta took their children and grandchildren on a tour of Italy. They thought that would be better than just throwing a party, and it was. This year, for their 65th, due to Covid-19, they celebrated with a rolling rally down the street, past their home in West Roxbury. Their family bond was strong, and they celebrated every Friday night with traditional Friday night dinners together.

Lorenzo was the dear and devoted husband of Antonietta (DeGuglielmo). Loving father of Maria Petruzziello of Hyde Park, Luciano Petruzziello and his wife Helen of West Roxbury and Joseph Petruzziello and his wife Dona of Norfolk. Cherished grandfather “Nonno” of Jennifer, Jillian, Joseph, Jenna, and Lisa Petruzziello, and Angela and Joseph Perrone. Dear brother of Gennaro Petruzziello and his wife Rosa of Italy, Natalina Favorito and her husband Antonio of Roslindale, and the late Luisa, Giuseppe, Michele, Giovanni and Carmela. Dear brother-in-law of Francesco DeGuglielmo and Mary Lynch, Pellegrino and Giovanna DeGuglielmo, Enrichetta Marotta, Sr. Evelina DeGuglielmo, Charles and Jeanette DeGuglielmo, and Rita and Andrea Paci. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lorenzo’s Funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa of Avila Church. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks must be worn and visitors must observe social distancing and limit their time in the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lorenzo’s memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc. 300 5th Ave. Waltham, MA 02451.

Lorenzo will be laid to rest in the St. James the Apostle Section of St. Joseph Cemetery.
