Lorraine T. (Latouf) Tobias

Lorraine T. (LaTouf) Tobias, of West Roxbury, passed away on November 29, 2020. She was 92 years old.

Born and raised in Boston,  Lorraine was a professional seamstress for many years, running her own business, “Lorraine’s Alterations.” She had a fantastic sense of humor and she loved to make people laugh. Another tremendous gift she shared was her cooking. Lorraine was an excellent cook who made all kinds of food, but Lebanese food was her specialty. She loved to cook and bake for family, friends and neighbors, especially if someone she knew and loved was sick. She enjoyed the occasional trip to Foxwoods and Twin River, and was very independent for her entire life. She drove her car up until very recently. She taught herself how to use a smartphone and relied on Lyft to get around when she finally had to stop driving. Above all else, Lorraine was happiest surrounded by family, especially her grandchildren.

Lorraine was the dear and devoted wife of the late Louis J. Tobias. Loving mother of Thomas J. Tobias and his wife Carol of Pleasantville, NY and Stephen P. Tobias of Marshfield and his fiancee Cheryl Mezzetti. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Stephen Louis and Sara. Dear sister of the late John and William LaTouf.

Lorraine will be laid to rest at a Graveside Funeral Service Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lorraine’s memory may be made to Our Lady of the Annunciation Cathedral, 7 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA 02132.
