Margaret Mary Murphy

Margaret Mary Murphy passed away in South Boston on January 26, 2014. She was 86 years old. Born in Charlestown (Boston) on November 19, 1927 Margaret spent her life taking care of others. She worked as a nursing assistant in hospitals, nursing homes, and private home care. Margaret was the dear and devoted daughter of the late Dennis J. and Catherine (Riordan) Murphy. She is survived by her sister, Mary T. "Marie" McLoughlin of West Roxbury; her nieces and their spouses: Brenda and Steven Jong, Mary and Fred Boucher and Patricia and Daniel McDonnell, her nephews James McLoughlin, Liam Smyth, Nathan Smyth and his wife Niamh, one grand niece, eight grand nephews and one great grand niece. She was the sister of the late Catherine and Christina Murphy, and Hannah Smyth. Margaret's Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday January 29, 2014 at Theresa of Avila Chapel. Margaret was laid to rest with her sister Catherine at St. Joseph Cemetery.
