Marino J. “Buddy” Persechini, of Avon, passed away on March 30, 2011. He was 79 years old. Born in Boston, Buddy was a graduate of Charlestown High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Following his service, Buddy worked for the B&M Railroad. He later joined the Local 6 in Boston and worked there for 20 years until his retirement. In his spare time, Buddy enjoyed raising birds and fish. He loved sports, especially football and loved to talk about his life experiences. Buddy was a great storyteller and a consistent one at that. Specific dates and details remained exact no matter how many times the story was shared. Buddy possessed an unconditional love for everyone. He cared very much for people, especially his family, and would offer help to anyone who needed it. He loved spending time with his family and his two favorite quotes were "Love never dies," and "I was lucky enough to have two soul-mates in my life when most people don't find one." Buddy was the dear and devoted husband of the late Margaret (Leon) and the late Carmen (Fontaine). Loving father of Richard J. Persechini of Middleboro, Paula Persechini-Petitti of Boston, Melissa Chisholm of Randolph and Eric Robbins of ME. Dear grandfather of Lydia Gerold, Rene Fay, Tyler Petitti, Arianna Robbins, Kristina Haley, Arika Robbins and Brett Robbins. Dear brother of Frances Persechini of Avon and the late Robert and Daniel Persechini and the late Angelo Balboni. Buddy's Funeral Mass was celebrated at at St. Michael’s Church in Avon on April 4, 2011.
