Mary M. Hamaty

Mary M. Hamaty of West Roxbury, passed away on February 3, 2010. She was 87 years old. Born and raised in Boston's South End, Mary was a life-long parishioner of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, and her faith carried over into all other aspects of her life. She was a generous benefactor to the orphanages at the Convent of Saydnaya and the Convent of St. Takla, both in Syria. Mary was a resident of West Roxbury for the past 60 years and worked for many of those years as a secretary at the First National Bank in Boston. She was a longtime member of the St. George Ladies Society and proud member of the Order of St. Ignatius. Mary was the loving daughter of the late Matilda (Bardwell) and Michael Hamaty and she is survived by many dear friends. Mary’s Funeral Service was held Friday, February 5, 2010 at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church 55 Emmonsdale Rd. WEST ROXBURY. Please make contributions in Mary’s memory to the Church. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery in Boston.
