Matthew J. Bouzane

Matthew J. Bouzane, of West Roxbury, passed away on April 14, 2023. He was 61 years old.

Born in Boston, Matthew grew up in Marshfield and was a graduate of Marshfield High School. When he was in elementary school, he joined Mrs. Bradford and the Bell Ringers and this began a love of percussion that he would carry with him through Berkeley College of Music and remain with him for the rest of his life. Matthew was passionate about drums and played them every single day. A few years back he allowed his younger sister to move in with him, but she had to be ok with the fact that every day at 8 a.m. Matthew played his drum kit.

Mathew was also a master electrician who worked for the Boston Police Department for over 30 years. Matthew was a selfless helper. He loved to help family and friends. His generosity knew no bounds and he was incredibly giving.

Matthew was kind and gentle and as genuine a person as you would find anywhere. He was a quiet man, and very matter of fact, but he also had an excellent sense of humor. He was an avid fan of ‘B Grade’ movies and was happiest surrounded by his loving family and nieces and nephews, especially his nephew Sully with whom he had a special bond.

Matthew was the loving brother of Michael Bouzane of FL, Kathy Bartlett and her husband Stephen of Marshfield, Mark Bouzane of Boston, Thomas Bouzane and his wife Rita of NC, Peter Bouzane of CA, Paul Bouzane and his wife Stephanie of NJ and Katelyn Bouzane of Easthampton. Loving son of the late Paul and Catherine (Sullivan) Bouzane. Loving stepson of Rosemary (Lawson) Bouzane of Easthampton. Loving uncle of Callie, Scott, Chris, Jason, Jonathan, Stephen, Brian, Catherine, Christina, Christopher, Sully and Richard and great-uncle of Paige and Reese.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to pay respects at the Visiting Hours Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 4-7 p.m. at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Matthew’s memory may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital Trust 401 Park Dr. Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.

Matthew’s Funeral Services will be private.
