Maureen (Harkins) Shea

Maureen (Harkins) Shea, of Cary NC, formerly of Needham, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021 at Transitions LifeCare in North Carolina. She was 73 years old.

Maureen was raised in Needham and was a 1966 graduate of Needham High School. In 1967 she married John Shea. Maureen was the woman behind her man, who helped make it possible for him to succeed and advance in the corporate world. Her family was of primary importance to Maureen, she was devoted to them.

She is survived by her loving husband John, her dog Sophie, daughters Annmarie Fuller and Brenda Shea of Cary, NC and her grandchildren Aria Rose and Gregory Ferris. Maureen was the loving daughter of the late Edward and Agnes Harkins and stepdaughter of Betty Harkins. She is also survived by her sisters Sandi Lindstrom of MN, Mary Beckford of NV, Kathy Twohig of Quincy, and several nieces and nephews.

Maureen’s Funeral will be from the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY, Monday, March 15, 2021 at 9 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Name Church at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 5-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visitors will be required to wear masks, practice social distancing, and limit their time in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maureen’s memory may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Maureen will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Boston.
