Natalie Markou, of Quincy, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025.
Born in the United States to Pericles and Alexandra (Tasselari) Markou, who immigrated from Albania, Natalie grew up in Brookline and graduated from Brookline High School. Her family later settled in Quincy, where she cherished weekly family cookouts, holiday gatherings, and afternoons spent at the nearby beach.
Natalie enjoyed a long career at the Bank of Boston, where she worked as an executive secretary before her retirement. Following her retirement, she purchased a condo overlooking Marina Bay, where she loved to sit on her balcony, gazing at the beautiful view of the Boston skyline. She also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and treasured time spent with her family.
Though she never married or had children of her own, Natalie embraced her role as a devoted godmother and aunt. She is survived by her beloved niece and nephews: Sandra Volpe and her husband Dennis of Wilmington; Richard Leach and his wife Mary of Plymouth; Mickey Markou and his wife Melissa of Milford; and Peter Markou and his wife Cindy of Westborough. She is also survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister Mary Leach and her husband Paul of Quincy; her brother Michael Markou of Hudson and his wife Eleanor of Natick; and her parents, Pericles and Alexandra Markou.
Natalie was a lifelong member of St. George Albanian Orthodox Cathedral, where she faithfully attended services.
Natalie will be remembered for her devotion to family, her generosity, and her love of life’s simple joys.
