Nicholas J. Giandomenico Jr. of Norwood, formerly of Walpole passed away on February 13, 2026. He was 83 years old.
Nick was a graduate of Walpole High School and a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed sharing his stories of time spent in the service from 1959 – 1963. He traveled across Europe in the Mediterranean Sea aboard the Navy aircraft carrier USS Forrestal. He was an electronics technician, focusing on installing and repairing radar systems in fighter and transport planes. Following his time in the service, Nick spent many years coaching youth hockey in Westwood and traveling to Canada to watch his son play. Upon retiring from a successful career at Telco in Norwood, Nick enjoyed working at the skating rink in Kingston. Above all else, Nick loved spending time with his family especially his cherished grandchildren who he was incredibly proud of.
Nick was the dear and devoted husband of Frances (Franciosi). Loving father of Nancy Vantangoli of Norwood, and Nichoals J. Giandomenico III and his wife Kallie of Boynton Beach, FL. Cherished grandfather, “Githo,” of Gabrielle Saulnier and her fiancé Theo Tsantinis, Nicholas Vantangoli and his wife Elizabeth, Sarah Vantangoli, David Giandomenico, and Jordan Giandomenico. Dear brother of Linda Zahner of Mansfield. Dear brother-in-law of David Franciosi and Donna Barron. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Nick’s Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church 10 Diamond St. in Walpole. Visiting Hours will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home 1248 Washington St. in Norwood. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nick’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 510 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105 (www.stjude.org) or to Blessed Sacrament Church (https://www.walpolecatholic.net/give).
Nick will be laid to rest with US Navy Military Honors at St. Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
