Rose S. Sabbag

Rose S. (Sakakini) Sabbag of Allston, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on May 13, 2009. She was 80 years old. Born in Boston, Rose's family relocated to Norfolk, VA to be close to her father's large family. She graduated Granby High School in Norfolk, VA. Rose and her family would later move back to Boston. She worked as a bookkeeper at the Charlestown Navy Yard, before staying home to raise her 4 children. Rose later worked as a mail handler for over 20 years at Boston's South Postal Annex. Rose was the dear and devoted wife of Elias A. Sabbag. Loving mother of Elaine Sabbag of Brighton, Abraham Sabbag of Brighton, Valerie Wier and her husband William of AZ, and Kathryn Sabbag of Dorchester. Dear sister of John Sakakini of Arlington and the late Albert Sakakini. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Rose's Funeral Service was held in the Church of St. John of Damascus Saturday, May 16, 2009. Contributions in Rose’s memory may be made to the Church. Interment Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
