Sarah Nehme Jouki, “Sitto” passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 12th, 2025 at 93 years old, surrounded by her loving family. She joined her husband Younan, to whom she was married for an amazing span of 73 years.
They emigrated from Lebanon to Braintree, Massachusetts in 1978, then moved to Staten Island, New York in 1981. They returned to Massachusetts in 1994, settling in Hudson where they lived their remaining years surrounded by their nine (9) children, twenty three (23) grandchildren and twenty twenty eight (28) great grandchildren.
Sarah grew up in Zahle, Lebanon, and was cherished by her parents, brother, sister, and extended family. From a young age, Sarah always showed her loving and caring side for those around her. She showed her care for animals - especially birds, making sure to leave out bird food because “no one else would feed them”.
Sarah devoted her life to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her home and kitchen played a central role in their lives. Her meticulously cared for garden produced a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to include in her unforgettable meals. Often, you could find Sarah knitting heirloom sweaters for her beautiful grandchildren, while watching her favorite shows The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy. Everyone treasured the time they spent with her.
Sitto Sarah was beloved by all who were lucky enough to be in her presence. Her children, grand- and great grandchildren were her treasures. They always had a warm embrace and affection when they were with her.
Sarah helped raise a strong family through her perseverance, faith, and devotion. She is survived by her nine (9) children Karim, George, Jamil, Yvette, Georgette, Jean D’arc, Rose, Tony, John and their families. We will all cherish our angel forever. Her legacy of love, and generosity will live on in our memories.
All services will be held Saturday March 15, 2025 at St. Matthew's Syriac Orthodox Church 149 Park St. West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours in the Church Saturday 9:30-11:30 a.m. Followed by the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m.
