Veniamin "Ben" Genkin

Veniamin “Ben” Genkin, of Sverdlovsk, Russia, formerly of Newton, passed away on February 11, 2021 at the age of 88. Ben was the dear husband of Inna Genkina, father of Yelena Genkina and Anna Rozenblat, and brother of Lilia Genkina. He is survived by his wife, sister, daughters, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ben was known for his witty sense of humor, his love of photography and his desire to do the right thing, especially in difficult situations. He was very handy, had a special love for watches and clocks and for making sure his knives were always sharp. Ben enjoyed takings walks and checking out the new inventory at neighborhood hardware and home goods stores, where all employees happily greeted him by name. We will miss his perspective, his genuine curiosity and his wise counsel.
