Albert Joseph Zahka, of Wellesley, passed away on November 4, 2020. He was 95 years old.
Born and raised in Boston, Albert was a lifelong, devoted parishioner of the Church of St. John of Damascus. He attended Boston Latin School and was a member of Harvard University’s Class of 1946. While at Harvard, Albert proudly served as an ensign in the United States Navy during WWII. He finished his Harvard studies on the G.I. Bill and went on to graduate from Boston University Law School in 1950. He practiced law in Boston before joining the Old Colony Trust Company, Office of Counsel in 1967. In 1969 He joined the Trust Department of Bank of Boston. He served at the Chair of the Corporate Counsel Committee and was a member of the ERISA Committee as well as past member of the Land Use Committee.
Albert was a lecturer of Business Law at Northeastern University for 12 years. He served as coordinator of the Bank of Boston Law Office Volunteer Lawyers Project and the Bank of Boston Charitable Trust Committee and was a member of the American Bar Association and the Massachusetts Conveyancers Association.
Albert was a Past Master of the Mt. Tabor Lodge of Freemasons and Past Commander of the Nicholas G. Beram Veterans Association.
Albert was the dear and devoted husband of the late Marion (Bayrouty) Zahka. Loving father of Albert J. Zahka Jr. of Wellesley and Stephen A Zahka of E. Bridgewater. Father-in-law of Susan Zahka. Cherished grandfather, “Jidu” of Jessica Malone and her husband Patrick and Karen Zahka. Great-grandfather of Margot, Greta and Audrey. Dear brother of the late George Zahka, William Zahka, Madeline Cahaly and Adele Ash. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Albert will be laid to rest with his beloved Marion, with military honors, at a private funeral service.
