Arthur H. Ward, of Norwood passed peacefully on April 6, 2020. He was 74 years old.
Born in Boston, Arthur grew up in Walpole and served in the United States Army, where he was top shooter in the Artillery Division.
Arthur worked at Lewis’ Bar and Grill in Norwood for over 40 years serving in many roles, most notably Keno sales.
Arthur had an extensive knowledge of sports of all kinds and could recite statistics for nearly anything, which made for hours of fun, and sometimes rowdy conversation amongst friends. Arthur was also a former athlete and in his younger days tried out for the Houston Oilers. Arthur was never short on conversation of any kind and always made everyone he came in contact with feel welcome.
Arthur had suffered with many health issues but succumbed quickly to the COVID-19 virus contracted while a resident at the Charwell Nursing Home. Arthur received the greatest of care while a resident there. Arthur's family and friends are extremely gratful for the the staff, who showed great love, compassion and kindness while Arthur was a resident there. They lead the way in implementing proactive measures far before this pandemic became widespread, in order to ensure the safety of their residents.
