Barbara (Shallah) Sabbag, of Bedford, formerly of Medford, passed away on April 16, 2022. She was 91 years old.
Born in Natick, Barbara was a life-long parishioner of the Church of St. John of Damascus. She was also a member of the Virgin Mary Society. She enjoyed summers in Hull with friends and took great care of her late husband James for many years. Her family was her life. Each of her 3 sons were “her favorite,” and she was always incredibly supportive of anything they were doing. She enjoyed cooking and her specialty was Arabic food. Barbara was happiest surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara was the dear and devoted wife of the late James C. Sabbag. Loving mother of Daniel Sabbag and his wife Rosetta of Bedford, Thomas Sabbag of Hull, James Sabbag and his wife Ruth of Hull, and Sheri Sabbag of Millis. Cherished grandmother, “Tete,” of Erik Sabbag, Jamie Sabbag and Ashley, Kristen and Michael Kaufman, Rachel and Brian Reilly, Victoria Sabbag, and Emily and Bobby Howard. She was the beloved great-grandmother, “Big Tete,” of Dylan, Elias, James, Penelope, Ariana, Lincoln, Amelia, James and Nora. Dear sister of Alyce McLaughlin and her husband Alan of Bedford and the late Samuel Shallah, Mary Frongello, George Shallah, Jack Shallah, and Thomas Shallah. Dear sister-in-law of Marjorie Haddad of Arlington and Lil Shallah of Arizona. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Barbara’s Funeral Service will be held at the Church of St. John of Damascus, 300 West St. Dedham, Wednesday at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held in the Church beginning at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Barbara will be laid to rest with her beloved James at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
