Carmella A. Panico, a resident of West Roxbury for nearly 70 years, passed away on March 26, 2019. She was 89 years old.
Born in Boston, Carmella had a larger than life personality and touched many people’s lives. An avid traveler, she saw the world from Europe to Hawaii, with a few stops in Las Vegas as well. She enjoyed Bingo and bowling and was a life-long, loyal fan of her beloved Boston Red Sox. Carmella was also an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, but above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family, especially her nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews.
Carmella was the loving daughter of the late Pasquale and Lillian (Sestito). Dear sister of Lillian Smith and her husband Robert of Brockton and the late Patricia Spencer. Sister-in-law of Frederick Spencer of Barrington, RI. Beloved godmother of her nephew Stephen Smith of West Roxbury. Beloved aunt of Maria Smith-Byrd and her husband Jeffrey Byrd of Hollywood, CA, Stacey Smith of Quincy and Stephanie Osborn and her husband Robert Plourde of Barrington, RI. Cherished great-aunt of Holly Smith and her fiance Ben Jablonski, Brendan Smith, Amanda Denton, Justin Osborn and Dahlia Smith.
A visiting hour will be held on Tuesday from 11 a.m. - 12 noon at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY. Carmella’s Graveside funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery immediately following the visiting hour, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved parents.
