Deborah M. Santos, of West Roxbury, passed away on November 29, 2020. She was 63 years old. Born and raised in West Roxbury, Deborah Loved art and music and loved collecting pottery and glassware. As the oldest sibling in her family, she always took charge when it came to organizing family get-togethers and bringing everyone together. Over the past few years she has played a large role in taking care of her mother and her uncle, who are both residents at Spring House Senior Living. Deborah loved the ocean and vacationing in Bar Harbor as well as Cape Cod. While studying in the Geology Program at UMass Boston in 1985, she met the love of her life, Nicola, and they have been together ever since, marrying in 1993. She worked for many years as a Microscopist, detecting the presence of harmful materials, such as asbestos, in construction and building development. In her spare time, Deborah loved volunteering with animals and lending her services to a number of organizations, as well as fostering dogs.
Deborah was the dear and devoted wife of Nicola Lupoli. Loving daughter of Cecelia (Matusik) and the late Manuel Santos. Dear sister of Michael Santos of FL, Cheryl Santos-Hunt and her husband Alan of Randolph, Christina Emery and her husband Clifford of NH and Sharon Mason and her husband Carlo of Gloucester. Dear niece of Robert Matusik of Jamaica Plain and Monica Mastrorillo of Hyde Park. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Deborah will be laid to rest at Graveside Funeral Service Friday at 1 p.m. at the Gardens Cemetery in West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
