Emily Msaddi of West Roxbury passed away on June 10, 2021. She was 97 years old.
Beloved Emily was born in 1923 in a small town called Tannourine situated high in the mountains of northern Lebanon. She was raised in a devoted Christian Maronite farming family. Since childhood, Emily learned to love, sacrifice, give, pray and was always grateful to God. She married at 35 and God blessed her with 3 boys whom she loved more than herself.
She immigrated with her young children to Boston in February 1976 where she resided in the South End.
She was a long-term resident of AABA Cheriton Grove where she made many close friends.
She was a long-time member of the Lebanese Syrian Ladies Aid Society of Boston.
She worked at the original Red Fez Lebanese restaurant in the South End as a cook and later as a chef.
She excelled at Lebanese cooking and enjoyed sharing her recipes. She enjoyed knitting many gift items for others. She had a green thumb, loved gardening and going to church with her loved ones.
She was known for her generosity, kindness and nurturing nature.
Emily was the dear and devoted wife of the late Samy Msaddi. Beloved mother of Roger Masadi and his wife Paula of Rhode Island, George Msaddi and his wife Jeannette of Las Vegas, Nevada and Joseph Msaddi and his wife Leila of New Hampshire. Dear grandmother "Teita" of Samy and Simone Masadi, John Paul, Alexandra, John, James, Faouzi, and Jude Msaddi. Loving sister of Mary Sarkis of West Roxbury, Julia Gebrael of Lebanon, and the late Antonios Harb, Daniel Harb, Adele Murad, and Salwa Bou Toubia. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Emily's Funeral Mass was celebrated on June 17, 2021 at Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon Church 61 Rockwood St. Jamaica Plain.

Emily has been laid to rest with her beloved Samy at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park.
