Ira B. Saltzman, of West Roxbury, passed away peacefully in his home on April 16, 2020. He was 84 years old.
Born in Boston, Ira grew up in the Grove Hall neighborhood of Roxbury. He was a proud United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. Ira was the type of person who would do anything for anyone. He would give you the shirt off of his back. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife of 53 years. He loved music and Arabic dancing. Above all else, Ira was happiest surrounded by his family, especially during the summers spent at Onset beach with his grandchildren.
Ira will be greatly missed by his dear and devoted wife Rose (Eouse). He was the loving father of Wanda Johnson and her husband James of West Roxbury. Cherished grandfather, “Gido,” of James Johnson Jr. and Ava Rose Johnson.
Ira will be laid to rest with Military Honors at a private funeral service.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Church of St. John of Damascus, 300 West St. Dedham, MA 02026.
