Jack G. Ataya, of Dedham, passed away on July 28, 2021, peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 94 years old.
Known by many as “the wise man, the thinking head, the most respectful of all, the man of peace, and the discreetly generous one,” Jack’s kindness knew no bounds. He enjoyed a glass of scotch and a cigar, while playing bridge, and was happiest surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Jack was the dear and devoted husband of the late Laure (Tannous). Loving father of John Ataya and his wife Fida of Dedham, Joseph Ataya and his wife Claude of Dedham, and Viviane Gilbert and her husband Greg of Sun City Center, FL. Cherished grandfather, “Jiddo,” of Joelle, Julien, Lorrie, Sophie, and Jessica. Dear brother of Antoinette Boumansour of Lebanon and the late Marie Mallat, Antoine Ataya, Jacqueline Chakar and Nicholas and Sayde Rouadi. Dear brother-in-law of Aida Eid, Yvonne Kassis, Badiaa Georges, George, Abe and Jean Tannous and the late Souad Geagea. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
