James David Goss

James D. Goss, of Norwood, passed away on December 11, 2020, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old.

Born and in raised in Roslindale, Jim was a graduate of Northeastern University and worked for many years as a manufacturing engineer. He loved to tinker in his garden and practice golf on his putting green in the back yard. Jim was an avid bowler, and actively played in the Norwood league up until recently. He was a hard-working, family man who made people laugh with his calm, playful nature.  He loved to travel and see history up close, getting the chance to travel to many places around the world with his beloved wife, Priscilla. He enjoyed good food and good company. He was an incredible role model, as a loving father and husband for both his immediate and extended family. Above all else, he was happiest surrounded by family.

Jim was the dear and devoted husband of Priscilla (Homsy) Goss. Loving father of Elizabeth Goss of Belmont, James and Kimberly Goss of Westwood, and Yvonne Goss and Doug Rea of Minneapolis, MN. Cherished grandfather, “Gido” of Kiely, Bridgette, Tiernan and Alexander Goss. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Due to COVID limitations, a private Funeral Service will be held in St. Mary Orthodox Church on Wednesday December 16, 2020.  Graveside funeral prayers will take place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery 580 Mt. Auburn St. Cambridge Wednesday approximately 12:15 p.m.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the gate of Mt. Auburn Cemetery to join the funeral procession to the graveside.
